Cosmetic Dentistry
Some people simply want to look younger, and cosmetic dentistry is like a dental facelift that can quickly "reverse" the natural aging process of the teeth. Others have had unattractive teeth their whole lives and have always felt self-conscious because of them. They rarely smile, or cover their mouths whenever they do smile or laugh.
We use various treatments to achieve your perfect smile, such as teeth whitening, porcelain veneers, porcelain laminates, inlays and onlays and full porcelain crowns. Oral Valium and N2O2 (Nitrous Oxide) is available for apprehensive patients.
Crowns
Crowns, sometimes referred to as "caps", are a type of restoration which completely covers a tooth. With the current advances in technology, porcelain restorations are so strong that we complete most crowns in all porcelain to avoid the cosmetic problems presented by other types of restorations...Read

Diagnostic
Correct diagnosis is a key component to keeping teeth healthy for a lifetime. We use the following to aid us in diagnosing the health of your mouth:
- Digital X-rays
- Diagnostic Impressions
- Comprehensive Oral Exams
- Consultation and Treatment Planning
- Caries Risk Assessment
- Vitality Tests
- Cracked Tooth Test
- Gum Disease Diagnosis
Digital X-rays
This type of x-ray uses a small digital sensor instead
of film to examine your teeth. Our office uses digital x-rays because they have
many benefits over film x-rays. Digital x-ray images can be simpler to make,
provide enhanced pictures, can save time and are environmentally friendly. They
also make it easier for us to show these images to our patients...Read

Extractions
The removal of a tooth from the mouth, extractions are performed for a variety of different reasons. Tooth decay that has damaged enough tooth structure to prevent anything from saving the tooth is the most frequent indication for extraction of teeth. Usually, when you lose a tooth, it is best for your oral health to have it replaced. Missing teeth can affect your bite, as well as your ability to speak and chew. Their loss can increase the burden on your remaining teeth and cause extra wear on teeth, headaches, and muscle pain in your jaw. Of course, losing a tooth can affect your appearance as well. Most of the time, we can replace that missing tooth without too much trouble!...Read

Fillings
When a tooth is damaged by decay, a crack or fracture, a filling may be required to repair the tooth. This filling is composed of a material called composite resin. The damaged tooth structure is first removed; then a bonding agent is used to chemically bond the composite resin to the tooth. This type of filling material allows us to conserve as much natural tooth structure as possible while only removing the damaged tissue...Read

Gum Therapy
More than 75 percent of Americans over 35 have some form of gum disease. In its earliest stage, your gums might swell and bleed easily. At its worst, you might lose your teeth. The goal of periodontal (gum) treatment is to control any infection that exists and to halt progression of the disease. Treatment options involve home care that includes healthy eating and proper brushing and flossing, non-surgical therapy that controls the growth of harmful bacteria and, in more advanced cases of disease, surgery to restore supportive tissues...Read

Inlays
Sometimes, a tooth needs to be restored with a filling, but the decay or fracture is so extensive that a filling would compromise its’ structural integrity. In this situation, a milled porcelain restoration may be indicated. When porcelain is used, the tooth-to-restoration margin may be so fine at the line of contact that recurrent decay will be all but impossible. It is for this reason that we sometimes recommend porcelain as the restorative material of choice. While these restorations might be more costly than fillings, the superiority of porcelain as a restoration in terms of resistance to biting forces, protection against recurrent decay, precision of fabrication, marginal integrity and many other aspects of restorative quality offers an excellent alternative to the regular fillings...Read

Laser Cavity Detection
Laser cavity detection is a technological miracle! Not only is it useful to detect decay, but it can also be used to actively monitor suspected areas so we know exactly when and how to treat the area. The idea of “watching” an area progress into a cavity that can be seen on an x-ray is no longer considered good dentistry because once decay can be noted on an x-ray it is usually twice as deep in reality!...Read

Migraines
The NTI-TSS is the only FDA-approved device proven to prevent migraine pain! NTI devices promote relaxation of the jaw muscles and work best for people who are chronic and severe clenchers
and grinders. They can be worn day and/or night, depending on the severity and
type of condition being treated. The NTI-TSS is a small, clear plastic device
that is worn over the two front teeth (either top or bottom) at night to prevent
contact of the back teeth. It is used to reduce tension headaches, as well as
migraines.
Onlays
An onlay is a porcelain restoration fabricated to fit your tooth precisely and is bonded tightly in place to strengthen and protect the damaged tooth. Like a crown, an onlay covers and protects the tooth's biting surface. Where a crown covers the entire tooth, an onlay covers the tooth cusps and covers the biting surfaces...Read

Partial Dentures
A removable partial denture (RPD) is for a dental patient who is missing some teeth and desires to have replacement teeth for functional or esthetic reasons, and who cannot have a bridge (a fixed partial denture) for any number of reasons, such as a lack of required teeth to serve as support and strength for a bridge or due to financial limitations.
The reason why this type
of prosthesis is referred to as a removable
partial denture is because patients can remove
and reinsert them when required without
professional help. It is necessary to remove
your denture every night before going to sleep.
Conversely, a "fixed" prosthesis is permanently
cemented in your mouth and should be removed
only by a dentist...Read more

Veneers
If you have ever been embarrassed or unhappy with your smile, porcelain veneers can be your solution. They are thin “shells” of porcelain that are bonded on to your teeth. Once properly bonded into place they become strong restorations that are resistant to staining and chipping. We can take misaligned teeth and make them straight. We can make a discolored smile into a beautiful bright smile that will not pick up stains with porcelain veneers.
The veneers serve to revitalize worn, chipped and stained teeth. They can also change the shape and alignment of your teeth so that you can achieve that perfect smile in just two visits!...Read
